Story Behind The Song
This song represents many people in my life, a mix of family and lovers that I moved away from to come to this wacky world. So much about what we feel and think about the past is stuff that we don't really want to get into, and to confess to ones self about our own fears and regrets is not a lot of fun. This song came out of me in a torrent one night after watching a Red Socks game. It got me thinking about my first love, a semi-pro baseball player. The original version of this song was really about him, but over time I realised that what I was feeling wasn't really about him, but my fears and dreams as an artist. So, I threw out the old, and rewrote the new, keeping the same plot line but moving more into the darker fears of myself.

Lyrics
So Long. That's what he said
Go be star and don't stop dreamin'
So I left with no regrets
Now I wand you back so bad
That's my confession
All alone in the big city
Only time I'm not affraid
Is when I'm sleeping
Do you ever think of me?
Cause you're with me evey day
That's my confession
Small town people
Don't make the big time
That's what they said
See you next year
Maybe by then you'll get this
Out of your head
Dead end jobs will see me through
I never thought It'd be this hard
But I kept on dreaming
And I may win and I may lose
You'll have to save yourself
That's my confession
Do you remember when
The songs I wrote for you
had my heart bleeding?
Can't recall just how they went
And I can't stop wanting you
That's my confession
Small town people
Don't make the big time
Thats what they said
See you next year
Maybe by then you'll get this
Out of your head
Oh God I love this day
A dream came true last night
While I was sleeping
There it is my name in lights
And you're standing next to me
That's my confession
