Song Description

The chorus came first, then the verse. At the bridge, I wanted to wrong foot the listener and do something different.

Story Behind the Song

My custom guitar is called Sally, so, I have always had an urge to write a song with Sally in the title. I, also, wanted to do another outing with DirtPile and this sort of track suited the bill.

Lyrics

Ain't no gain if there ain't no pain
You know that girl drives me insane
Everybody looks when she's in the room
And I love the smell of her cheap perfume

I love Back Street Sally
Yeah, that girl's right up my alley
I love Back Street Sally
Yeah, that girl's right up my alley

Sally don't need no fairytales
I'm telling you now she's as hard as nails
Some poor sap kissed her on the neck
And he saw stars as he hit the deck

I love Back Street Sally
You know that girl's right up my alley
I love Back Street Sally
You know that girl's right up my alley

She drives me crazy when she's on the phone
Talking to her mom who's back at home
I've got the mustang sitting outside
And I just wanna take Sally for a ride

I love Back Street Sally
You know that girl's right up my alley
I love Back Street Sally
You know that girl's right up my alley
I love Back Street Sally
You know that girl's right up my alley
I love Back Street Sally
You know that girl's right up my alley
