Song Description

recorded and performed entirely by myself in my studio.

Story Behind the Song

My sister has been in a relationship with what seemed like a nice guy for about 3 months now (nov 11 2009) one month ago my mother called me and told me he had beaten her badly. I promptly paid him a visit and laid the boots to him good. my sister was happy I had taught him a lesson and said she never wanted to see him again. 2 days later they were back together. I have not talked to her since. this song is both my plea to her to smarten up (she is also hardcore alcoholic as described in the lyrics...) and dump that sack of crap, and my own way of dealing with this messed up situation.

Lyrics

The Fallen One

I can't stand to see you fall apart
the kids are hurting too

I know you needed me to be there
but he would be there too
These times are hard for everyone
I know you're black and blue

That's why I have to stay away
I couldn't stand to watch you suffer
on another sunny day

I've watched you fill your empty heart
with bottle and abuse
everyone has tried to show you
then realised there's no use
you've given up on you

I'll try to make you see
this is not what you deserve
yet you live it constantly

When it's all said and damage done
you'll be the fallen one

I know you needed me to be there
but he would be there too
These times are hard for everyone
I know you're black and blue

I'll try to make you see
this is not what you deserve
yet you live it constantly
the bottle and abuse
