after daddy ask for mammas hand in marrage, grandpaw told mamma, he would give her the automobile of her choice if she would not marry daddy.....it was grandpaws way of checking the maturity of momma's young heart and love .......daddy has always wanted to restore an old automobile since I was a small child... so a few years after he retires he buys a '51 chevy , works endless long hours day in and day out .. I stopped by to see momma one day and she was upset at daddy about " to much time with the car and not enough with her" . I reminded her of his life long dream to finish a car , 'cause he did'nt have the money or time in his younger days.
and now that he has the time and money, for her to help him realize and complete the dream,,,,to take him some lunch, sit and talk about whats left to do to help keep his priorities in order to speed up the completion off the automobile. also to get her out of the house and involved with the project . I am writtting this on july 8, their 50th anneversary is july 25.
this song is one of the gifts to my parents .
and oh! the '51... it won't be finished
but the interior is complete and the airconditioner works yea.. they'll drive it to the party........
