House of Love and Harmony

Story Behind The Song

I was being verbally abused for many years by my husband.I no longer look forward to him coming home. He would start yelling at me in order to relieve his stress from the day. He made me the enemy when all I wanted was to love him. I had to divorce him. I took way too many years of abuse from him.

Lyrics

HOUSE OF LOVE AND HARMONY written by Linda Storey

When you walk into my door, make sure you know what your love is for,

I'll always be your friend, I pledged my love until the end,

but if you want the best from me, don't treat me like your enemy, I'm not the enemy.

You're running off with your mouth again

That's not the way to treat a friend.

We need to build this House together

so we can get through the stormy weather together

CHORUS
You and me, make it be A House of love and Harmony

now when you walk into your door, make sure you know what your spouse is for

and always be a friend, you've pledged your love until the end

if you want the best your love can be don't treat it like the enemy, it's not the enemy

CHORUS

Have a little patience with me darling,

think of all the sweet love we've had

Stop and think of where this is coming from

It's not my love that's driving you mad!

When you walk into my door make sure you know what my love is for.

I'll always be your friend, pledged my love unto the end

but if you want the best from me don't treat me like your enemy, I'm not the enemy

Don't take your anger out on your loved ones,

that's not only to treat a friend

We need to build this House together

So we can get through the stormy weather together
