Story Behind The Song
I went into the Barnes and Noble on 6th and 21st in NY, bored, nothing to do. I sat down on a cushy sofa. There was a bookshelf right behind the sofa. I thought 'I'll just reach back and grab a book. Whatever it is, I'll buy it.' So without looking, I put my hand on 'History of the Jews.' I opened it and read of Babi Yar.
So much horror. On the way home, I saw a man and woman on a street corner. She simply offered her face for him to kiss. I thought 'that's the only antidote to the horror.' I went back to my piano and the song was finished in 20 minutes. I wish they were all that easy to write.

Give Me Your Kiss
All the weekend long
In a ravine in Babi Yar,
Thirty thousand, thirty thousand.
On a train in Merillon,
The madman cut them down,
Twenty seven, twenty seven.
Give me your face to kiss.
Give me the soft place under your ear.
Give me your neck, and hold me near.
In the sky the planes are falling
All around us now,
Blood and metal, blood and metal.
In the streets the men are falling
Softly on the ground,
Guns and ammo, guns and ammo.
Give me your face to kiss.
Give me the soft place under your ear.
Give me your neck, and hold me near.
