Story Behind The Song
The first line "the devil's hair hung in the air that night" came to me as I was driving. I was looking into a sunset-lit sky with whispy clouds and for whatever reason, that line stuck in my head.
From there, it went to love, passion and trying to recapture the moment.
Song Description
A man thinks back on a night with his lover that was full of passion. As soon as it was over, the man was scared, because he had never found true love. He hopes that he can find true love, which here is equated to that memory of the night under the harvest moon. He finally realizes that even though he may not still have the feeling of a first kiss, or even the passion of the first night, what he has is true love.

Lyrics
Harvest Moon
The devil's hair hung in the air that night
Falling softly through the dimming light
Blush uncovered
Hearts in bloom
We gave into each other
Under that harvest moon
I was scared but never dared to say
Every love I knew had come and gone away
What sparked like fire
Had died so soon
I just lied there?waiting
Under the harvest moon
Waiting on the someday
We?d be Flying like fools
Glowing in my mind
Hoping in my time
You?d shine through
Waiting on the someday
Moment of truth
When I open up my eyes to see you
Burn on
Harvest moon
Many years and silent fears would fall
No bolt of lightening, no crystal ball
Just a simple notion
Dreams come true
We?re one soul in motion? dancing
Under the harvest moon
Waiting on the someday
We?d be Flying like fools
Glowing in my mind
Hoping in my time
You?d shine through
Waiting on the someday
Moment of truth
When I open up my eyes to see you
Burn on
Harvest moon
The devil's hair hung in the air that night
