It was a very dark time in my life, I had done some things I wasn't proud of, but I knew that God had forgiven me, everyone that knew me had forgiven me. Why didn't I feel better? Finally a friend of mine told me, you need to forgive yourself. That made all the difference. So I prayed that God would allow me to write a song about forgiveness, and this was the song He taught me. It's all His, really.
A guy is feeling bad about his past, until he decides to give himself a break, and forgive himself.
Verse 1 -
I'm sorry for the pain I've caused, I'm sorry for the love I've lost. Mere words cannot express my heart felt woe.
It's too late to go back there now, too late to ask when, where and how, cause it wouldn't change a thing I've done I know.
So I'll, just live my life for God, stop chasing girls, and things and wealth. Fish a little with my brand new rod. Enjoy my friends, and make some new ones, maybe cheer up the blue ones, but most of all, Forgive myself.
Verse 2 -
The bible says that God forgives us, so who am I that I should hold a grudge against myself. I'm sorry for the pain I've caused, I'm sorry for the love I've lost, I've put that part of me up on a shelf.
Really cool song!! Very melodic, very catchy, with some nice lyrics! Musicianship sounds very good.
Nice Subject, good vocals easy listening
Nice song, nice vocals, and recording. The message was great as well. The instrumentation was WONDERFUL! Great job!
The guitar parts were nicely played... Vocals reminded sort of a Gordon Lightfoot type approach... nicely done overall
It's O.K.......The Music has merit! I always have such a difficult time with Religiously Themed Music, I think it's because I have a harder time with Religion in general! I am probably the absolute worst individual to be reviewing this kind of song...I am so sorry, that I must be so direct with my opinion! In defense of this tune, there are probably Broad Jam Members, that are going to Love this song!! Best of luck with this composition....I mean that sincerely!!!
Wow this is my very first review of a Christian lets say Rock song on Broadjam and I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of the songwriting. The lyrics were put together nicely and singers voice fit the overall tone of the song. I though it had a little bit of a Three Dog Night quality too it.
very cool...a very Elivis Costello vibe in your vocals...
nice harmonies, too...
even though I don't perscribe to the "religious" themes i think has a strong positive message...
you sing it with conviction...i respect that alot...
