Story Behind The Song

I have written and re-written this song so many times that I've lost count. It would have been easier to give up on this song and the title even encouraged it! All kidding aside, I couldn't let go of this song because I love the paradox of giving up and winning. The idea that when we are weak, He is strong is so compelling. Like the song Spoken For, there was a time when I ran as fast as I could to succeed at work, relying on my own strength. It wasn't until I "gave up" that I truly discovered what living life for the Lord was all about. The funny thing is, until you "give up" you really can't begin to understand what it means to live in His presence. You can't begin to comprehend what it means until you dive in and see for yourself. When I did my whole life changed. I never want to go back to the person I used to be. That being said, I still have a long way to go to become the person he wants me to be.
