Lyrics

Now the day is over, night is drawing nigh;
Shadows of the evening steal across the sky.

Spirit give the weary calm and sweet repose,
with your tenderest blessing may your eyelids close.

Through the long night watches may your angels,
spread their wide wings above you, watching around your head.

When the morning wakens, then may you arise.
pure and fresh and sinless in your holy eyes.

You captured the essence of the piece with the nice voice

Soft and sweet, this rendition of this traditional folk song emanates peace. I like the background watery sound effects. Beautiful lullaby.

Excellent work. The length of the song is well thought out, and the itself song sounds perfect for the holiday season. Also, the song could easily be a lullaby. I could hear this song being a strong candidate for movies in the fantasy and holiday genres.

very pretty and sung well, piano is lovely strings and embellishments work well..love the waves...

Beautifully sung. A lulling lullaby for the end of the day.

If I had a voice like this angel, and a baby, we would both be getting some much-needed peaceful rest. Can definitely hear this in a movie score, perhaps during a scene where there is a bit of soothing talk from the baby's mother. It is so gentle and unobtrusive that it could easily fit into such a scene.

I find this very easy-on-the-ears. Relaxing and inspirational. Love the vocals. The intro and outro are pretty cool with sound of waves and a bell. The intro definitely got my interest and I wanted to hear more.
