Song Description

A song of reflection and thinking back on good times

Story Behind the Song

This song was written in one of the most beautiful areas of County Kerry in Ireland one magnificent summers morning, as the dawn broke over the Dingle Peninsula and the great Atlantic ocean. The whole atmosphere and aura of the scenery, silence and the smell of the mist rising of the sea, jolted the poet in me to write this song of relection

Lyrics

IN THE COLD MID-WINTER,FEELING THE TOUCH, FEELING THE TOUCH OF AN OPEN FIRE
WATCHING CHESTNUTS BURNING ROASTING TURNING, ON A FLICKERING FIRE
HERE WE SIT IN THE SHADOWS,REMINISCE REMINISCE OF THE TIMES GONE BY
THINKING BACK ON THE GOOD TIMES, THINKING BACK THINKING BACK ABOUT YOU AND I

CHORUS

AND ALL THESE THINGS THEY REMIND ME OF YOU
YES THEY DO
LAUGHING IN THE RAIN,RISING THROUGH THE PAIN
JUST YOU AND I

IN THE DEW DRENCHED MORNING ,FEELING THE TOUCH,FEELING THE TOUCH OF THE SUMMERTIME
WATCHING SEAGULLS SOARING,FIGHTING THE PULL OF THE GULF STREAM TIDE
WATCH THE MIST COME ROLLING IN NOW,MAKING LOVE TO THE SKY
FISHEREN WITH THEIR NETS,SITTING TALKING SMOKING SWEARING IN THE EVENING TIME

CHORUS

SEE THE TIME TRAVELLING LADY SITTING ALONE IN HER CARAVAN
SHE'SREADING FORTUNES FROM HER TAROT CARDS,TEA LEAVES SPILL IN HER OPEN PALM
SEE THE CURRAGH'S RACING,UP AND DOWN UP AND DOWN ON DINGLE BAY
SEE THE MAGIC OF THE BLASKET ISLANDS, NOT SO FAR AWAY

CHORUS X2 TO FINISH
