Story Behind The Song
Dave wrote this after a long night after-gig celebration. As the sun came up, Dave wandered down to a pond and started crafting this song. Although the song has a mellow groove, the drummer commented on how much energy it took to sustian a slow groove for 7 minutes.
Song Description
"The Bosom and The Pool" is a concept album by Dave Christensen. In this chapter, the narrator realizes that even though there is a world out there that demands his attention, that it is essential to take time out every day for reflection/meditation/prayer. Lyrics
THE POOL
Now that we?ve danced and we?ve drunk the wine
And this good time?s coming down to the bottom
Shake off your dew and move slowly through the pines
Thinking of remedies to diffuse what your lacking
How about another spiritual shock to your soul
Create a wave to lap up on your bones
Now that we?ve laughed and we?ve spent some time
Tripping on branches and running up the boulders
It?s time to walk on down to the pool for some reflection
Wade in the water moving in a different direction
Don?t you change comes on slow
Like green grass poking through the snow
Chewing on myself like a mangy dog
Wasting time picking at nits and ticks and pirates
Growling at the cats who hiss at the mice
Who pester humans who yell at the dog
I?ve had just about enough of these pointless screams
Living in the age of exaggeration ain?t what it?s cracked up to be
Feeling myself go mute as the days march on
listening to voices whispering out the window
It?s time to walk on down to the pool for some reflection
Wade in the water moving in a different direction
Don?t you change comes on slow
Like green grass poking through the snow
Now that we?ve sat and we?ve sent a sigh
Across the water to weave between the reeds
Purple blues and hues speckled with sunlight
Frogs are chirping, dragonflies skim the surface
I want to be another casualty of happiness
Giggling in the pockets of everyday stress
Now that we?ve tranced and we?ve felt the sense
Of one droplet moving with the mighty current
It?s time to walk on down to the pool for some reflection
Wade in the water moving in a different direction
Don?t you change comes on slow
Like green grass poking through the snow
