COME SWIM WITH ME

Come and swim with me
in the summer sea;
on this lovely day
all the sharks are away
at their hunting ground,
where they hang around.
Here the whales cavort,
and the porpoises snort;
Up above the deep,
that's where mermaids sleep.
We will thwart the tide,
and like dolphins slide
through the crashing waves,
over seamen's graves,
and the sunken ships
with their sails all ripped.
On the treacherous shoals,
see the mermaids' souls
blow along the shore
when we're safe once more.
So, come swim with me
in the summer sea.
