Somewhere In Your Soul

Story Behind The Song

The story is one you see at any airport where so many couples are heartbroken at being parted for however long. It's a positive song though, in that the one left behind tells his love that he's really always with her in spirit--she can feel it and see it in everything around her, and only has to look at his picture to recall all the good times they've had, and will have again.

Song Description

A couple are about to be parted for a while as the woman is flying off on a journey. The singer, who is the one staying, tells her that she only has to call him to feel and know that he's always all around her, and she only has to look at his picture to remember all the good times they've spent together.

Lyrics

Somewhere In Your Soul

You have to go for a while,
Through your tears you summon up a smile.
One last touch of your face,
Final call before they close the gate.

I must be brave, must stay strong,
Find words to help when you're gone:
Just one thing, when we're apart,
Know I'm loving you with all my heart.

Cos I'll be here, all around,
You can call me when you're feeling down,
I'm the sun behind the cloud,
Every leaf that flutters to the ground.
I'm everywhere you are,
In each corner of your loving heart;
Every place you'll ever go
I'll be there somewhere in your soul.

Lonesome hearts, for you will be
So many miles away across the sea;
But count the hours, count the days
'Til you're safely in my arms again.

And I'll be here, all around,
You can call me when you're feeling down,
I'm the sun behind the cloud,
Every leaf that flutters to the ground.
I'm everywhere you are,
In each corner of your loving heart;
Every place you'll ever go
I'll be there somewhere in your soul.

Bridge
Keep my picture in your mind,
All the times I made you smile,
For laughter's there to cherish,
It makes living life worthwhile.

And I'll be here, all around,
You can call me when you're feeling down,
I'm the sun behind the cloud,
Every leaf that flutters to the ground.
I'm everywhere you are,
In each corner of your loving heart;
Every place you'll ever go
I'll be there somewhere in your soul.
