Story Behind The Song

I was married about 3 years and just had a beautiful baby whom I loved more than anything I'd ever loved before, but my wife was on a different frequency. I found out later that she was in the beginning stages of Bipolar disorder. I was lonely and in pain, needing the excitement and stimulation that only comes from having a true companion, but I was torn by my love for my new daughter. I didn't want her to start life in a divided family, but I didn't want her to grow up in an unhappy, resentful home either.( I ended up leaving and my daughter now has two happy homes.)
