Story Behind The Song
This was a collaborative effort in which three of us worked together to respond to a brief looking for music for the TV show, "Shameless" in 4 days. Martin Hanish (of Cologne, Germany) had riffs and a title: "Cupid". I wrote the lyrics and melody in one day and got them back to Martin and Melissa Vanachter (of London, UK). The music and title dictated the thoughts that produced the lyrics. The melody was the natural result of the lyrics. Melissa sang her interpretation of the song and Martin mixed it. I copyrighted it (giving due credit, of course). The song was not chosen for the brief, but the experience was worth everything.
Song Description
Woman warning Cupid to keep his arrows at bay - that she is no prime target for those arrows. Then at the end, she confesses she has indeed been shot.
