Girlfriend of six years moved away while I was on a business trip. I came home to an empty apartment. Even though it was highly traumatic, I can say from the distance of many years that it was for the best. I recorded this song in the hallway of my one-bedroom condo in 1999. My studio and my gear have gotten a lot better since then.

Stripped-down acoustic song from the CD "Cut & Clarity". Lyrically, it's about coming home and discovering that someone you've been in a long-term relationship with has moved out of your life. It's just a starkly honest song.
