Story Behind The Song
Partly about a vision that came to me about a woman in a white cotton shift crying against a window pane. The window pane had rain streaking down it. Combine this vision with feelings left over from a failed relationship, stir well with acoustic and electric guitar and lots of backing vocals and heat well at 350 degrees.
Song Description
Acoustic and rock elements are combined with a hooky chorus and big backing vocals to accentuate a bitter-sweet message of lost love and regret.

Lyrics
Go Ahead And Cry - C. Thomas
She cries like the morning rain
Whisper-soft, tracing lines down her face again
A bitter-sweet display like a perfect broken rose
The part she locked away comes back when her eyes close
She wishes she could explain
Can't push these thoughts from her head as quickly as they got in
So much at the mercy, so little she can do
Emotion-tinted eyes become a paler shade of blue
Go ahead and cry
She once was the sheltered one
She once spread her arms to embrace the sun
Now there's no umbrella and she's standing in the storm
Her heart has started freezing when it used to keep her warm
Go ahead and cry
Cry yourself to sleep, cry for someone new
Cry for all the heartache we put each other through
Go ahead and cry
A blessing in disguise, or just another sin?
Maybe she was lost so she could find herself again
CHORUS
