ShaKara Monique is the 2013 DMV Christian Music Awards Breakthrough Artist of the Year. She is described as one of the most skilled, pure, well-trained, and well-rounded new talents to hit the Urban Contemporary music scene in the last decade.

ShaKara's debut CD, UN4GOT10 DESTINY released on her birthday March 21, 2013. The freshman project was mostly been written by ShaKara along with two Music Producers, Joseph VanBuren III and Johnny Kyle of Jx2 Productions. Her singles, "Destiny" & "Give You Praise" can be heard on numerous internet and terrestrial radio stations. ShaKara commented that "My goal is to reach those who are outside of the church walls, who are hurting and feel forgotten. I am so grateful to God for opening these new doors and I know there are greater things to come for me in the future".
