I began learning guitar at about age 7 when my dad fetched his 1942 Kalamazoo KGN-12 acoustic from the storage room, dusted it off, replaced some missing strings and played a few old standards, like Down in the Valley and Five Foot Two. I was already listening to AM radio and started trying to play rock and roll over the next couple of years. My first live performance happened in 4th Grade, when I played House of the Rising Sun for the class. I joined a few bands in high school and college, but stopped playing for about 20 years while raising kids. As the kids finished high school, I wrote and performed poetry for several years while brushing up on guitar. After my youngest left for college, I found the time to  start writing songs again. I've been having fun ever since!
