Mark McDonald is a dedicated musician specializing in Pre War and Delta Style Blues. He has studied and worked with some of the greatest performers in that realm. Some of those people include Honey Boy Edwards, Louisiana Red, two of the last remaining original Delta Bluesman, Robert Belfour, Jorma Kaukonen, John Cephas and Phil Wiggins, Steve James, Carey and Lurrie Bell, Terry "Harmonica" Bean, Bob Brozman, Keith Allen, Walker T. Ryan, Drink Small and Geoff Achison.
Mark is an excellent songwriter as well as a vibrant and soulful performer, singing, playing guitar, and blowing a racked Harmonica. Mark's first CD, Great Long Time, which was released in 2002, was recorded live in the studio with the goal of replicating the pre war era. That CD recieved rave reviews and stayed in the top 35 in the Roots/Blues Division of the Roots Music Report for 22 weeks, gaining national and international acclaim.
