IAN JAMESON - Bio

Ian Jameson is a New York City-based gutarists/songwriter and producer. Specializing in writing upbeat pop songs specifically tailored for the female voice, Ian has over the years worked with some of the most talented singers in NYC, producing catchy melodies with an eye toward TV and Film placement, as well as with established and up-and-coming artists.

Ian's background in writing dates back to 1990 with a string of minor bands all with an alternative/indie sound and male vocals. His first major project, "Livewire", a female-fronted hard-rock band was formed in 1996 and performed music, written in the previous years, along the lines of Joan Jett & Lita Ford. The project was a great learning experience but dissolved in 1997 after producing a self-titled CD.

Heavily influenced by everyone from Fleetwood Mac & Blondie, to Melissa Etheridge & Alanis Morissette, Ian's music took a more polished turn in 1998 with the debut of his second major project "Sugalily", a partnership between Ian and singer Dawn Lorentz. After 5 years of writing, touring & performing, the group released a 12 song CD in 2003 titled "Strange Days". Although October 2003 also marked the end of Sugarlily, the disk was evidence of a growing and maturing songwriter & is still available by request.

In 2004 Ian began his third major project, "Undercurrents", by recording his most accomplished material yet with ace co-producer/musician Michelangelo D'Amico. In 2006, after giving it a try with no less than 5 different singers, Ian partnered up with Australian sensation Georgia Haege - formally of The Strines. The new project marketed under Ian Jameson's name as well as "Undercurrents" is a new and exciting collection of songs that are polished and catchy, and ready for the TV, Film or artist placement market.

Look for new material to be posted on Broadjam as it becomes available. Ian can also be found at: www.IanJamesonMusic.com
