Michael Urge (Vox. & Instruments) & John Biordi (Drums) developed the idea of glamourKings to describe the experience of living amidst the ignorance of suburban Long Island. Urge explains, "When you live here, everyone is fearful of any diversity; there is an attitude that the world only exists in the small backyard of NYC." In August of 2007, glamourKings released their 15 track album titled "For Full Stimulation," and are consistently playing shows as a duo, breaking the conventional image of a four man rock band, while delivering a live sound equivalent of five musicians. Urge explains, "We are not trying to be your average rock band, because we're not a rock band. We want that booming club thickened sound that an acoustic drum set can't deliver, so we use an electronic one instead. We started out as a studio project and want to replicate that studio sound."

Glamour Kings

Michael Urge developed the idea of Glamour Kings to describe the experience of living amidst the ignorance of suburban Long Island. Urge explains, “When you live here, everyone is fearful of any diversity; people here have this attitude that the world exists only on this Island." But Glamour Kings is not just a reflection of suburban society, but of the new human transformation of lusting over reality television, diet fads, television degradation, cosmetic surgery and celebrities; where every individual wears a crown to portray themselves as kings in their idea of a fashion induced glamorous society, while ignoring the symptoms of insecurity, isolation, and depravity that lie beneath. With all contempt set aside, the music of Glamour Kings is a blend of energetic dance rock that combines a mixture of electronic overtones with a raw rock edge. Urge states, “I was always influenced by the dynamics of groups like Nine Inch Nails that combined electronic and organic drums together, but as a real young kid I grew up loving the raw energy of bands like Guns N' Roses.” Urge not only wants the listener to be seduced in the sound, but be one as he is…just another one of the Glamour Kings.
