Edge of Seventeen? A Stevie Nicks cover? My first thought: WTF? After listening, ...oh yeah! This is REALLY a fine tune with a lot of great elements that made it so. I especially liked the singing around the 2:30 mark, and the quiet part around 3:40 makes the heavy parts seem ultra-heavy and it gives a lot more dimension to this song. I like this much better than the original. Well these two versions are about 179 degrees apart, but knowing the original makes this one even better than cool.

That one came up good, the guy who produced was really particular about the snare. He had like 8 to 10 of them to choose which one would sound best for each song.looking forward to getting back in the studio next year and busting out some more tracks.thanks for the feedback," dead weight" gets regular AirPlay on the iPod..... That song is phat

Pretty slow at the moment. Our friend who is recording the songs is recovering from a serious health issue so we're waiting for him to fully recover before we get back in the studio and continue. We think the stuff sounds grerat so far. Can't wait to finish everything.

"all to blame" is a great song man,dig the chord changes in the chorus.just an idea but this tune would sound big with a band behind it,have them kick in as the 2nd verse starts, but sits beautifully as an acoustic piece also

Thanks!! When I envision my songs, I usually see them being played with a band, so I COMPLETELY understand what you're saying. At some point in the near future hopefully I'll be able to throw something together. Thank you so much for the kind words. It means a lot coming from talent like you guys.

thanks paul, that was just a piece of music i wrote for my wife.it was recorded in between takes for a session i did for another band,i liked how it translated so i through it on here to see how it would go.it's quite a departure from what we normally do and was fun to record(not to mention putting me in the good books with the wife lol).as for your comment regarding the breathing,i did the take and we listened back.we instantly picked it up but it seemed to bring a real honest kinda feel to it.almost like your sitting there in the room with the guitarist(that would be me ),i liked it so we kept it.big thankyou for your review,i was a bit worried what people would say about it but it's nice to know that you enjoyed it.

thanks again,
rob "tranzphat"

Got it, Rob. I listened to some of your other stuff, (which was also great!) and figured that it was done that way deliberately considering how polished your other tunes were. Keep it up, you guys have some major talent, and I definitely want to hear more!

thanks mate, for that song we ran a 53 strat through a badcat.then doubled it with a les paul through a bogner, really wanted to squeeze as much tone out of it as possible.also used a gretsch with the f holes and those big fat tremolo's for the middle eight to get that surf guitar feel.was alot of fun doing that one, thanks for the feedback

hey mark, thanks for the review mate.i can see you really listened to the song,it was one of the first we wrote together as a band.the reason we kept it short was we did'nt want it to run into the tool/karnivool typecast, then there would less chance of possible airplay(believe you me i wanted to rip a killer solo over the beginning and end).your song "things you don't show" is very cool, was waiting for the drums to enter at the first chorus....even better at the beginning of the second verse.has that dave matthews feel for sure, look forward to hearing some more.all the best

they are more of a commercial approach than karnivool,it has it's moments.you should check out a band that toured with them last year, they're called MM9.google them and have a listen, unfortunately they announced they we're splitting this month but they sure left a trail of great music.one of the best sydney bands i have ever seen live
