thanks for the review of SILOM ROAD ( you asked :) ). glad u liked it. silom road is in bangkok, it where the midnight market and many bars and gogos oare. the best way to see it , is to take a back seat and watch as it wakes up, lives and goes to sleep around 2 AM. hence the song. thanks again. tom

thank you for your reivew of "something for the pain", and i agree and always have that its too fast. the song was written for a country singer in the UK who wanted it that way. now u got me thinkin, i will look at it again for a blues style. good luck with your music its great. tom

thanks for your review of "your heart would bleed2, one of the better reviews I have had in ages ( not the score but the quality of the review). some good points and yes it was always gonna be a bit like dylan :) the heartfelt comments showed that you did listen to the song and not simply clip it zap it and write complete crap which many seem to do. thanks for the review of "fatherless son". "too soon" was purposely doubled up to add emphasise and meaning :). two years after my "old man" passed on i finally managed to write a song that was not all " i loved you and miss you blurb". and it took a very very short time to write. onde day I plan to do something special with it, but meanwhile its on our 2009 CD. thanks again. tom

thanks for a great and honest review of "the one you left behind", which is almost a draft recording, done simply so that i dont lose it before I have time to properly record it. i am glad you enjoyed it. good luck for the future

Hi Tom. I'm sorry you feel that my review of your music was of a poor attitude as I feel that the song was a heartfelt effort. I have never felt that music was a competition and perhaps that is what drew me to music in the first place. I actually thought the lyrics were decent but I also feel that if you included more specifics the song could have been better. I definitely need to listen to more vocal styles of music to appreciate different lyrical styles as I believe that my education in such is just beginning. I stand by all of my comments. The pitch was off in parts as I can hear in my own recordings. I look forward to your review of my music as well no matter what you may say. I hope that we both can learn from feedback on this site to make us better musicians. I hope my review didn't discourage you from writing more music because I know I go to sleep at night dreaming of it and wake up doing the same and you probably do as well. nice reply, cheers :) by way of explanation; the song is a son looking back at his tmes with his, now dead, father and the influence he had . the reason for the almost monotone voice is "expression". its a bit like the use of minor chords.. an expressionless voice actually can express more feeling sometimes than one with expression ( if that makes sense). unlike some styles which are different, my songs are stories. its a little like painting a picture really, you have a blamk canvas and 4 minutes to pain the picture for the listener. whch is why I dont do pop or love songs :) On our next CD, which I dont recommend to you as it might make you slit your wrists, we have 2-3 in the same style. I recommend you listen to Leonard Cohen ( check him out on u tube) just for "fun" Hey, have a great week, at some point I will check your songs out and i am sure they are great
Sure, I can see that. My music isn't exactly bubblegum so I won't be slitting any wrists. Check out my song, "Son of a Rich". It's along similar lines. I have heard some Leonard Cohen, I'll be sure to check out more. By the way, I'm originally from the UK. ty for your review of "waitin for a train", your comment that "the vocals are not bluesy enough for the song" is probably true since I am a writer not a singer.
Maybe if you drop the key of the song that might do the trick. Another trick is, try singing it after you've been awake for 20 hours...your voice will get that deep blusey sound naturally.
and of SILOM ROAD :). SR is a street in Bangkok where I spent a few nights chilling out watching the world go by at the midnight markets. I am glad u enjoyed it, its a verbal painting of what you would see if you went there :) all the best tom

thanks for the review of "you and me" which to be fair was a good review, not just the scoring but the comments. glad to see you are reviewing normally again as with all my stuff, they are nicely recorded demos designed to give a singer the outline of the song, style and music
You're welcome. We are trying to treat every artist the same and not be too critical and cause an uproar. As artists, we here at AMW love to have people rip our work apart and tell us what is wrong with it; hwoever, some artist just want the pats on the back and to hear how great they are. Keep up the good work you're doing!
thanks for the review on "the one you left behind" it is the only one one i have put up that is a work in progress, hence the changes and lack of intro etc. i recorded it as i wrote it with no plans, no after mix and have a few changes to make to the lyrics before its "released" in a finished form. it wasnt, obviously, on my last album but will be on the next . cheers. tom
