Hello, I have made these songs available for purchase. You should be able to buy them now at .99 each I believe. Thank you for the kind words and the ratings.

Hello. Have you actually had placements thru broadjam? If so when (date). Thanks

Yes I have. I have placements from 2010 until this year. The trick is to build on the relationships you get with the publisher when you do get a placement. Also, it took about a year after signing up before I saw any placements. Hope this helps.

Carey, What tips or suggestions could you offer for helping create a sting ending on a track?

Author
Carey Haynes

What's up man?

Best suggestion I can give, think if you have a track thats 4 bars and it goes "a, b, c, d" now on the last bar before the end of the track, you want it to go "a, b, c, d, a"

When you get to that last "a" end with a kick and/or a crash, or hit. If you listen to the end of "Life of the Party" in my songs list at about 1:07 you'll hear how it ends with a kick and a crash on the last bar.

What I have found, the tracks that end with a crash gets used more because it kinda sets the scene up for the next piece of music, etc.
I hopes this makes sense, I know I may not have explained it right, but if you have any more questions let me know, I'll be happy to help.

Carey, thanks for getting back to me with a quickness. That makes perfect sense. I like the "a,b,c,d,a" analogy it definitely spells it out in words when describing. That gives me better perspective. I'll be sure to check out your "life of the party" track. Much appreciated!

Hi Carey,

I like a lot of your tracks.

Would you have an interest in collaborating sometime?

I am more of a storyline/song concept/lyrical idea kind of person.

I have an idea that I wanted to run by you.

Thanks

2 tips I can give that helped me out.
1. No fades. This is probably THE most important thing. Tracks should have a definate stop ending. When they edit for shows, they want everything to end with a "sting" or "button ending"
2. Try to avoid using sound effects (swooshes, laser sounds, etc.) I used to do that a lot to try to "fill" in tracks. I have had a lot of tracks not used for these reasons.
Oh, one last one, avoid long intro's. Get in and get out. Uptempo/party tracks usually gives you a better chance at placement.
Hope this helps. Holla at me if you have any more questions.

Hi Roy,
First off, let me just say Broadjam has really helped me since I joined a year ago. It has really made a difference in my career. I thank you for this service.
I have a question I am not sure if you can help me with.
If I have a song that I intend to use strictly for TV/Film, is it necessary for me to have a full length song. On song placements I've had previously, they usually only play maybe a verse and a chorus. Would I hurt my chances if I made songs with simply a chorus, a verse and the chorus again with a running time of about 1 min 30 secs?
Any thoughts would be helpful.
Thanks,
Carey Haynes

Carey, Thanks for the note and being a member. You don't have to submit full length material to an opportunity. There are +'s & -'s for doing so, but it really doesn't matter unless there is a specific length request.....Best of luck, Roy
