Bart Brady Ciampa, BMI, is a composer, arranger, and trumpet/flugelhorn and wind synthesizer player who lives and records in Vancouver, Washington, a suburb of Portland, Oregon. He was born and raised in the Boston area where he studied with Jerry Mitchell for ten years. During college in the early '60's, he was fortunate enough to live near Lenny's-on-the-Pike, which was the premier jazz venue of the greater-Boston area. During this period he spent many pleasant evenings listening to the jazz greats and was influenced by folks such as Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Chet Baker, Zoot Sims, Al Cohn, Herb Pomeroy, Alan Dawson, Dave Lambert, Charlie Mingus, and many others. His eclectic style encompasses Latin, mellow jazz, and the old jazz standards. He has released seven CD's, three of which are available at CDbaby.com. Bart Brady Ciampa is a composer, arranger, and trumpet/flugelhorn and wind synthesizer player who lives and records in Vancouver, Washington. He was born and raised in the Boston area where he studied with Jerry Mitchell for ten years. During college in the early 60's, he played with several groups and was fortunate enough to live near Lenny's-on-the-Pike, which was greater-Boston's premier jazz venue. During this period, he spent many nights listening to the jazz greats and was influenced by folks such as Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Chet Baker, Zoot Sims, Al Cohn, Herb Pomeroy, Alan Dawson, Dave Lambert, Charlie Mingus, and many others. His eclectic style encompasses Latin jazz and the old jazz standards. He has released seven CD's, the most recent of which are titled, "Caution!! May Cause Drowsiness!," "Another Smooth Operator," "Soft Sounds, Sweet Dreams," (a collection of mellow jazz standards) and "Twilight Interlude" (a collection of 13 original laid-back Latin instrumentals). (On a side note, Bart received the Ph.D. from Boston College in 1972 and during graduate school studied the 5-string banjo with Bill Lewis/Don Stover in the Boston area. He performed on banjo with several bluegrass groups in New Hampshire and Maine from the late 60's to the late 70's before moving to Nebraska where he served as Dean of the Graduate School at Wayne State College from 1977-83. From 1983 to his retirement in1998 he served as President of an Investment firm in Vancouver, Washington. Since 1998, he has devoted his time to the creation of music in his home studio.)
