I wrote this song in honor of my grandmother, Frances DeAngelis Polito, the quintessential Italian grandmother. Her love and hugs continue everytime this song is sung.
Kids love to dance to Hug-a-Bug-a-Boo. (There are fun actions to go with the song). Promotes good feeling and love among families. Very popular in concert performance.
Hug a bug a boo. I?m a huggin? you.
Hug a bug a bee. You?re a huggin? me.
H-U-G I like hugs. (Snug as a bug in a rug) (Repeat)
I wish you knew my grandma; Nana was her name.
Nana was the Queen of Hugs; that was her claim to fame.
She?d wrap her arms around me, and squeeze me really tight.
And when she fin?lly finished, my cheeks were red instead of white. CHORUS
Come to my family party and see the hug-a-thon.
Aunts and uncles, cousins, they hug me one by one.
I don?t know how we ever got to eat our manicotti.
?Cuz in walk three more relatives; they?re gonna hug my little body.
Now I have a family; I?ve got two kids of my own.
Young?uns raised on huggin; that?s how our love has grown.
Someday I?ll be a grandma, with loving arms that squeeze
And all my little munchkins, they?re gonna get some hugs from me!
Very nice arrangement, a pleasant combination of instruments and the cutest text for children song. Incredibly sunny and fresh! Suitable for TV shows, children's films, educational cartoons and YouTube blogs.
A very cute and witty children's song. Loveley clarinet vamping along with the vocals. Great stuff!
You did it again...........
Exceptionally well done children's song, very well written, composed, performed, produced. Love it! You're fulfilling a very important purpose to introduce young people to the arts.
oh I like the starting of this song and of course the whole theme of this is wonderful subject of this family thing!
This takes me back to childhood when the aunts would come over for the holidays and squeeze you to death.
I didn't mind the slobbering lipstick kisses so much but that perfume was so strong I would have to go outside and roll around in the grass to get some of it off!!!
I'm still singing this one. And I'm old enough that I probably don't quality as a child... but this one's just too fun. The perfectly fun lyric, and light-hearted instrumentation make this thing really sing. And then the kids voices added to the lead fill this thing up just right. You gotta smile listening to this one!
