Lyrics

Green Jellybeans
by Kathy Hartman

Green Jellybeans messing up my head
They make me feel just like I can't get out of bed
Workin' 9 to 5, somehow it doesn't jive
I wanna be a star, I can't even buy a car Yeh!

Green Jellybeans the bottom of the bag
Now ya know that this life is such a drag
Before I know it, It's time to clean the house
Oh Mr. Jellybean I feel just like a mouse Yeh!

Work my ass off, in my school
All for nothin', just ain't cool
Rock and rollin', on a stage
Sure beats livin' in a cage

One two One two fuck you

Green Jellybeans the bottom of the bag
Everything is shitty and everyones a nag
Workin' 9 to 5, somehow it doesn't jive
I wanna be a star, My daddy bought my car Yeh!

Work my ass off, in my school
All for nothin', it just ain't cool
Rock and rollin', on a stage
Sure beats livin' in a cage

One two One two fuck you
Workin', lurkin', smurkin', saggin', I'm draggin', I'm laggin', aickin', I'm wakin', I'm breakin',

Very amusing piece. Uninhibited kickass rock n roll. Ain't nothin' better. Really love the riff. Love the way this ends. Once again, you all are putting me to mind of Zappa and the Mothers.

Liked this a lot. Distinctive, fresh-sounding, uninhibited, instantly communicating, instinctively humorous voice - rap meets 'sprechgesang', you could say. I am not usually a fan of rap, but this was committed, funny and engaging. Good use of moments of silence in the instrumental accompaniment. Strong, punky groove. John Peel would have loved it!

Fun track. Couldn't stop listening.

Great Punk attitude in this one. I'm reminded of Wendy O. Williams, The Runaways, great retro 1980's punk sound. The instrumentation is simple but appropriate for this style of music. The recording itself is solid....not sure if it's a basement pro tools job or an actual recording studio which means it's recorded by someone who understands recording.

Listening to this song made me think kit might be my great friends here on Broadjam, "Signal 30". Loved this song and the energy. Well done and a blast to listen to.

I love it. I love it. " 1 2 fuck you" aaaahhahah Perfect but see below.

-The singer really reminds me of like Poly Styrene (of X-Ray Spex) or the lead singer of the Waitresses. The cutsieness, but also with a hard edge is nice.
-The lyrics seem rather funny and rather relatable.
-The instrumentation reminds me of lots of old school punk bands (Sex Pistols, Clash, etc.)
-The song has a lot of energy.
-It also kinda reminds me a bit, in the middle, or Devo, who are my favorite band. So, that's always a plus.
-Also, only reason I said doesn't have market appeal is because of the state of music these days. In the punk/underground, I think this could be a hit.
