Songwriter Scott Wilcox

For Scott Wilcox music isn't a colorful group of tones and rhythm, it is blood. The surging pulse from within that gives life and nourishment. Most people remember Scott as "that guy on Oprah". If you missed it, last October, Scott wrote a song for Oprah and performed it for her on her new show Lifeclass. She loved it. She cried, called it fantastic, and said his music was a gift. But Scott's musical talent is so much greater than one song.
Raised in Wisconsin as the son of a disc jockey, Scott grew up with the most classic musicians at his fingertips. He began to make up songs at the age of three and at the age of twelve wrote his first piano song. Now Scott has 150 songs. He plays drums, piano, and guitar and sings so well that one Nashville producer said, "He could make Mary Had a Little Lamb sound great!" His music blends Chicago blues, Midwestern folk, and Wisconsin country into an Americana blues genre he thinks of as the Wisconsin Sound. When Scott sings, he makes every song his own. Fans repeatedly return to his shows because they long for the experience of his music. Scott has been called a musical genius for the vision his music expresses. In the past year, he has won the Bob Dylan Songwriting Contest, appeared on Oprah and produced three CDs, Love Notes, Locally Famous (Widely Unknown), and a Christmas CD called, A Little Jing-a-Ling. He plays all the instruments, sings all the vocals, designed the CD cover art, and produces all the music in his studio called, Bear Creek Recording www.bearcreekrecording.com.
Scott's fans treasure his lyrics like fine gold. In Locally Famous, Scott sings a line that sums up his musical journey, "When I was a little boy I dreamt to be a star, but now I know, to change the world, you don't have to go that far." His fans love songs like, Allis & John (a song about two tractors that fall in love), a Cup of Coffee (a song about a guy who has crush on the girl at the coffee shop but is too scared to ask her out) and Heart of Gold (A fun bluesy song about a mom that raises her child to know about the most precious thing we own, our Heart of Gold). When Scott performs he doesn't just play, he offers a precious moment or experience to his fans that they never forget.
