Gary Ireland, known as "PaPa G" to his grandchildren, has been a singer songwriter for over 35 years. He started teaching/coaching in the public schools after graduating from college and made a career change in the early 80s when he became an EMT paramedic. Gary took early retirement in 2001 leaving the Iowa Department of Public Health where he had been the State Director of Emergency Medical Services since 1991. Gary performed in several country rock bands over the years as well as a single act. A songwriter for some time as well, much of his inspirations come from his grandchildren, evidenced by the two songs he has on his home site including "Where's Grandma?" and "All The Way to Heaven."
