Lyrics

OH BY THE WAY
(Words & music by Gary L Ireland 5/31/2005 ©)

1) I went to the grandkid?s house one day all by myself
Maybe play a little catch or maybe just hang out
I saw them through the window as I walked upon the steps
Expecting hugs and kisses but what I got instead??..

Chorus:
Where?s Grandma? Did you leave her in the car?
Where?s Grandma? We hope she?s not too far.
Did you come to stay and do you wanna play?
And we?re glad you?re here, oh by the way, where?s Grandma?

2) Now Grandma told me not to fret that it?s a two way street
She said it happens to her all the time I shouldn?t lose much sleep
She said she went just yesterday unannounced and walked right in
The children met her at the door and the questions started in

Chorus:
Where?s PaPa? Did you leave him in the car?
Where?s PaPa? Now don?t let him wander far.
Did you come to stay and do you wanna play?
And we?re glad you?re here, oh by the way, where?s PaPa?

3) Now the kids they see us as a pair it?s what they like to see
But even when we both show up there?s still no guarantee
They saw us through the window anxious we were coming in
But even both together the questions never end

Chorus:
Hello PaPa. What are you doing here?
Hello Grandma. We?re really not to clear.
Did you come to stay and do you wanna play?
And we?re glad you?re here, oh by the way??
Next time maybe you could call first!
