During my life I have written songs and reflect to my situation's good therapy.
Like what Neil Diamond said "Song Sung Blue everybody knows one, you sing it out you feel good again".

Who I am Volume 1

A bio- Roy Liljequist

I was born in Minneapolis Minnesota. I was surrounded by music. Every Christmas my family would sing, play guitar, accordion, the buitar (a six string banjo you tune and play like a guitar). At least that's what I call it.
My sister taught me the guitar at age 10. I learned various gospel songs, like Do Lord (a old southern gospel song) etc....
I played the guitar off and on thru my life but when I reached my teenage years I played the stereo more.
I loved Black Sabbath, Nazareth, Led Zeppelin, and The Beatles, basically all the classic rock. I wrote a song or two during this time. None that you'll probably hear in the near future. And I played a lot of air guitar.
Around 21 years of age I dove into Gospel music. I was in a rock band called Eternity Band. I wrote some good gospel songs with titles like Heaven, Joy Deep inside, I used to walk around with a Big hole in my soul Etc... .
I wrote a song called Everybody is a Freak, Come back Froggy, Come Back, Killing bugs in the Month of May, and others. We played a lot of churches, parks, coffee houses etc....
I Got married and moved to northern Minnesota. I got devorced and thru other heartaches, breakups and life's dilemmas (good and bad) I wrote Yesterdays Corn, and other various songs.
During my life especially in my music I have always had a high regard for blues music. Looking back thru my life every thing I listened to or wrote seemed to be blues influenced.
(Just a passing thought)

Where I am I can hear the distant music,
I feel it calling me,
it seems to be drawn me close.
I think which song is that?
What direction is it coming from?
These are some of the questions my mind wonders.

The Music Box

I put my soul on hold to reflect,
To ease mind, time to direct.
Notes to reach,
Feelings to catch,
Spaces thru walk,
Walls to breach.

A Lure For Music

The Lure of Music
(Just a passing thought)

I never go or chases it down to find out the where it is. I do ponder on it more than most people (At least that's what my girl friend says). She said "You can't just let it go".
I say "why let it go". It's fun and interesting. I enjoy figuring out who it is. A lot of times it's me making others wonder.
Hey I remember when I was younger, well most of it (laugh). I enjoyed blasting my music. What? Oh never mind. I couldn't hear myself think for a second. (People tell me that I think too much anyway).
I've always turned my music up especially when people were passing by. Not always just because I'm a loud teenager, the music was good. I do have to admit that I have tried to use the lure of music for attention now and then, but now that I'm older and wiser I listen around me and I realize music has a lure onto itself.
