His songs are lyrically intelligent, with a pop/rock hook. Most of his musical time is spent in studio, "It's really where I'm most comfortable."

William grew up in a thriving Celtic music tradition on the Atlantic coast of Canada. Hints of that Celtic influence can be heard seeping out in a 6/8 rythm in many of his songs. Lyrically, the songs paint pictures, a window into his experiences.

Influences - Don Henley, Bruce Springsteen, Bruce Hornsby, Sting, and Mark Knopfler.

As a guitar player and producer/engineer, his songs are written on guitar and the arrangements are generally guitar driven. "I feel a great song is a vehicle for a story, I use my guitar as a means to get the story told."

The songs say the rest.
