A native of Marietta, Georgia, Bill Corley studied film production and music theory at the University of South Florida and Emory University earning a bachelor’s degree from Emory. His earliest success in the music business came while still in school with a now-forgotten regional hit, Karen’s Other Song. Atlanta’s Lowery Group published another of his song compositions. After playing guitar and keyboards on the club circuit for a couple of years, he joined Atlanta’s (And) Media Group as head of audio production, scoring films and commercials for Coca-Cola, U.S.A., Southern Airlines and other clients. He then started his own music house, writing and producing TV and advertising music for Body Forum Magazine, Georgia Girl (retail) and other regional clients. Starting in the mid-80’s Bill held several staff writing positions with ad agencies, writing and producing music for Shoney’s, Shell Oil, Mazzio’s Pizza, Tyson Foods and other national clients.
