When I (Birgir) was starting out playing jazz in '97, I got a call from a saxophone player who wanted me to play in a jazz band. It was there were I met Pétur (guitar) & Gunnar (drums). The three of us instantly clicked and a year later we were getting tired of the dinner-jazz and wanted to do something more challenging. We formed a group called Interstate with a keyboardist and played hard-fusion for about a year. The keyboardist decided to quit so we formed a trio called Vancouver Burning in the year 2000. We took a two year break as I went to Italy to study graphic design. But now we have awaken and are starting to record an album. We have all studied music for some period of time and we are very dedicated instrumentalists.
