THEIR OBJECTIVE, as a band is to find a common ground between the countless generas that occupy the dance scene, as we know it. tripod would like to be seen by the live electronic, hip hop, house, jam, and all other scenes in the same light, with out being called any of those names alone.

SINCE THEIR DEBUT tripod has shared the stage/opened for many other talented musicians and bands such as THE DUO, PNUMA TRIO, SIGNAL PATH, EZEKIEL, FUTURE ROCK, STS9, TOUBAB KREWE, JACOB FREDS JAZZ ODYSSEY and many others. tripod would like to be considered, new dance groove, for lack of a better term, for a NEW DANCE GROOVE is what tripod is striving to find.

Tripod as we hear it...

? we have tried to theme our songs to different images that go on in our head. like for instance: our song willows is meant to be a theme song for "a colony of futuristic ants marching one by one through the jungle to invade a weaker colony and use them for slaves. its scary, but real". the truth is, all aspects of life are partnered with a soundtrack. some very obvious, like the sound of a river. other things don't have an obvious soundtrack, thats were bands like ours come in. a tune to dance to, one to sleep, one to study, and one to roll the dice in New York ally accompanied by a stray dog and a graffiti artist. accomplishing this is as easy as sitting down and playing. its not long before a theme emerges and we choose to go with it. i think from that point on its all about applying that theme in a live setting so that it makes sense to the listener/ viewer. as a three-piece band, the elements are obvious and as is; drums and bass; pretty self-explanatory. in this area we try to melt the dance aspects of hip-hop, drum n' bass, electronica and others into a pot that we all can spoon from. this base allows the ambiance and melody of the keyboards a firm place to grow into the tree we as Tripod wish to be. in short, this is all part of a major effort to bring different types of listeners into one room and create a sound that we all can enjoy. this is our genre.
