T.J. Walker is considered by fans and peers alike as one of the most versatile guitarists, singer / songwriters of the present day. As a performer he's outrageous! As a musician, he's clearly a cut above the rest. Combined with his ability to communicate with an audience and his polished delivery as a player, it's a wonder he's not a lot more famous than he already is.

On his Breaking Records debut, "First Reel Barbeque", you hear a wide variety of songs featuring traditional instrumentation. Delivering a fresh new heartfelt collection of material that has to fall into the collectible column of just about anyone's musical library! To quote a lyric, "I hear you clukin big chicken, who put a nickel in you, you must be proud'a just how loud ya' cock-a-doodle-do." This is a fun yet very country / soulful bunch of tunes with some incredibly gifted musicians onboard.

Like a train worth riding, you're sure to enjoy this trip!

Bio

TJ WALKER BIO INFO

Tommy Jay Walker boasts DNA consisting of a dozen or so musical influences, running the gamut from Lyle Lovett to Roger Miller. Though he knew from the start that his roots in rock
and country would be at the heart of his sound.

Walker first discovered the thrill of recording at the age of 10, singing a song arranged by David Gates, founder of the mid-70's group, Bread. T.J. considered this to be the spark that ignited his passion to make music for the masses.

Walker's next career move came when he bid farewell to high school and formed his first country-rock band, which performed over 300 dates per year throughout the Pacific Northwest. It was during this period (which he considers his college education) that he acquired the stage name, TOMMY ROX, because of his outrageous and colorful showmanship.

Unable to resist the siren's call of the San Francisco Bay Area, he relocated to Marin County, a rock star studded community just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. For the next several years, The Tommy Rox Band toured clubs and performed at countless corporate parties, establishing himself as one of the most sought after artists of the region.

Over the past 15 years, T.J.Walker has performed with a bevy of American music icons, including David Grisman, Neal Schon of Journey, and various members of Lyle Lovett's Band, the Glen Campbell Group, the Doobie Brothers, and many others.
