When these five musicians began writing and performing in March, 2003, two were high school juniors, two were freshmen, and one was an eighth grader. They quickly became one of the most talked about bands in the Olympia area. They performed many all-ages venues in the region, and won all four Battle of the Bands events that they entered. In February, 2004, they recorded 13 songs at the Recroding Lair in Olympia. The songs that are available here are from that CD, Butterfly Wings Start the Hurricane. This year the two oldest are away at college in Washington State, and their lead singer/lyricist has been relocated with his family to Pennsylvania. But the band stays in touch, and plans to get together this summer when everyone is back in Olympia.
The Crossing are Nathan Hepner, vocals and piano, Matt Brenna, lead guitar, Tyson Rosage, rhythm guitar, Cary Griffin, bass guitar, and Jevon Wussler, drums.
