"...in a class of his own. He can rock, honkytonk, sing the blues and tug at the heartstrings with the best"- Walt Grealis, founder of the Juno Awards.

Enamoured by the grace and grit of 60's soul, and energized by the current roots and singer-songwriter scene, Stew Hooey has carved out a stylistic niche that is at once fresh and familiar. Having been offered publishing deals by both Nashville and New York City publishers, Hooey released his self-penned, indie debut album "Armchair Outlaw" in 1995 to strong critical acclaim. "Daughters of America" (2000) and "Testimony" (2003) followed and were also well-received by the Canadian press.
Recording now with more stripped down arrangements and an emphasis on strong lyrical narratives, Hooey continues to hone his craft and channel the muse wherever it may find him.
