Steve began playing in classic rock and blues in a bands in the Midwest; singing, writing songs, and playing guitar.

His love of music began far earlier, hearing his grandmother playing hymns at a tiny church in Iowa.

He played piano, accompanying choirs throughout high school. He really enjoyed playing for the girls' chorus "I guess I liked the odds".

Years later Steve heard Muddy Waters for the first time, "not just heard, but felt something real, organic, earthy, and very cool."

When he arrived in Dallas, he began playing in earnest with several bands. The most memorable was playing in the backing band with Curly "Barefoot" Miller. "That was the real deal to me".

"I enjoy loving, feeling, hearing, singing, screaming, and whispering the Truth through music."
