Story Behind The Song
Why are dreams richer than reality? Are they? Would this story be more beautiful if we had fallen in love and lived happily ever after, both living our lives to the fullest every moment, not needing each other, but desperately wanting each other every morning, noon, and night? The reality is that near the end of their hoilday in the States they took a Greyhound bus from the opposite coast all the way to the land of Ahs. They stayed for about a week, which was, as long as that night seemed to last, an eternity. Who knew the dark of night and the sound of surf could hide a personality as well as a ship.

Lyrics
TRIP HOME
1:45 and OB sand between my toes
is Holland nice this time of year
we sure are wearing lots of clothes
but time is short
and not to mention so are you
what to you think we should do
I don?t feel like sleeping
The sun is very sneaky
8:30 in the morning is when
the tour bus is leaving
Here how the waves crash
We should be getting back
The view?s nice can I can finally feel a star
And days from now
Back in the land of Ahs
Where life is going on
I won?t remember sleeping
But I?ll dream
Well 2:45 laying next
to a pile of clothes
The tide is low
Do you think they know no no
I don?t care I just want to share
These few moments here with you
Laying on the beach and
Absorb what you are teaching
How did I end up with
Such a fine woman in reach
Here how the days last
And I feel that I could pass
Not as a carpenter but a poet
Of a better life
before it passes me by
Softly softly the sun is rising
I?m waking to blue eyes I don?t recognize and
Where is last night the sun is pounding
I?m wishing for a life that I haven?t found yet
So bright
So bright
