Story Behind The Song
I often dream that I am walking into some sort of circus or carnival. Always, just inside the front gate, I come across a Barker, some guy in a red and white top hat, standing on a short stool. The type that is usually barking,
"Guess ya height and weight har folkes, ownla two dallars! That's rite, ownla two dallars har folkes, if I miss, pick yarself a prize!"
Only this time he's yelling,
"Guess yar life parpus here folks! Spot on everytime! Two dallars, If I miss, you grab yarself a prize. Two dallars har!"
He latches onto my inquisitive look, perhaps seeing the word "mark" tattoed on my forehead.
"Step rite up ma boy, Lemme guess yar life parpus. That's rite, jas pu'cher two dallars in the jar rite thar. Now then, you seem ta be a tough one."
He always gives me a thorough looking over, making faces as if he is having all sorts of insights into my soul. This goes on for a minute or two when suddenly he looks up with a light bulb floating above his head. The specifics after this get fuzzy, but I'm fairly positive that it goes something like this: he tells me some ridiculous occupation should be my life purpose(Lion Tamer, Pool Boy, President). It's always something with no substance. I think about it for a minute, shake my head no, and he mumbles something about not being right every time while handing me a 50 cent rabbit foot.

Lyrics
I?LL KNOW WHAT TO DO
Someday I?ll know what to do one day
In spite of myself being in the way
I?ll learn that life is what I learned on the way
I?m trying and trying to live my life
Without lying to me
And so far I?ve made such a mess
Pigpen would be proud of me
Someday I?ll know what to do one day
Linus your blanket
It?s time to throw it out
Linus your blanket
It pulled the rug out from under you
Someday I?ll learn all that I want to know
One day watch a child of my own grow
Find out that the world is round
Learn that I don?t like the sound of
Someday I?ll know what to do one day
In spite of myself being in the way
I?ll learn that life is what I learned on the way
