Plays:6
Song DescriptionThe devil is one devoted thing and is always on the seen or in your face when you least need for him to be there. It talks about how when you try to do something he always gets in the way and tries to make your life a living hell. But if we as Christians will always rely on God and put our trust in him, he will always see us through the hard times.
Story Behind the SongI went to w0rk one morning and had a lot of work, it seemed that every thing that I tried to do it seemed like that the devil was in the way. I ran into so many obstacles that day that I knew that it could only be the devil that could make so many things go wrong in such a short period of time. So the next day I went back to work and made up my mind that I would write this song for the devil. Now when I seem to be having a bad day, I just start singing the devil song. It seemed to make every thing go a little bit easier.
Lyrics
?The Devil Was Working On Me?
VRS: 1. It started out early this morning, nothing was going right, seemed like no matter what I tried to do, nothing was working out right, I took a little time, tried to figure it out, just what was going on, it didn?t take me long to figure it out, that the devil was working on me.
(CHORUS) The devil, that mean ole devil, oh the devil, was working on me, oh the devil, was working on me, but he?s not gonna win because, he is not my friend, that mean ole devil, ole devil.
VRS: 2. Any time life?s troubles, seems to get you down, feels like every time you try to stand, the devil tries to knock you down, if you bow and pray to God, put your trust in him, he?ll keep you safe, and in his grace, when the devil is working on you,
(CHORUS) Oh The devil, that mean ole devil, oh the devil is working on you, oh the devil, is working on you, but don?t let him win, because he is not your friend, that devil, that mean ole devil .
VRS: 3. Seems like when Gods children, try to praise his name, the devil goes into over time, to him it?s just a game, he wants to tear your world apart, and steel your soul away, and make you live in hell with him, for all eternity.
(CHORUS) Oh The devil, that mean ole the devil, oh the devil, is working on you, when the devil, is working on you, but don?t let him win because he?s not your friend, when the devil is working on you, oh that devil, that mean ole devil, but don?t let him win, he?s not your friend, when the devil is working on us, that devil, that mean ole devil, he?ll never win, when Gods your friend, the devil, that mean ole devil, oh that mean ole devil,
