Story Behind The Song
I wasn't even supposed to record this as part of our album. The morning we woke up to do bed tracks I was really sick. My voice sounded rough and pretty aweful. I started warming up with this song because it's in a low register. My bandmate Steffon heard me and said, "Man you sound like shit. You have to record this song today! It just suits the mood." We set up 2 mics and just rolled on it. I found myself getting really into the lyrics and had to pause part way through for a breath, but that seemed to work out ok too.
Song Description
It draws a comparison between getting back together with someone and getting into a party. The chorus is a sarcastic repeat of "I'm the life of the party again". It's a song about remorse and self-pity in the midst of your former partner's success.

Lyrics
You?re timely again, and I?m always late
And the wind tries to find it?s way in
And there?s coats on the bed
And hats on the rack
Door prizes for looking your best
Chorus:
But it?s hard being strong, when you?re good being weak
And you?re trying to find your way in
And I?m sure as the stain on the pull-out couch sheet
I?m the life of the party again
You look just the same as a Christmas before
No your lipstick she won?t budge an inch
So I put on a laugh, but it?s short at the sleeves
God I hoped that you?d give me a wink
Chorus:
And the sweaters are warm, cause there?s frost on the glass
And the wind tries to fight it?s way in
Not to bother the guests or to nip at the host
Just to sit at your party again
Chorus:
