Up on a Hill

Story Behind The Song

This song was written a week after 9/11/01, when desperation and deep sorrow permeated everyone's days. Although the song isn't about anything related to 9/11, the deep and quiet sadness reflects those same feelings so many were feeling after the attacks; sometimes, it's easier to write about something indirectly rather than describing it head-on.

Song Description

A song of quiet desperation from someone whose days are passed on the same hill of her childhood, who never really had a chance in life, and who has said goodbye to her family members on the same hill that will likely be her resting place, too.
