What purpose was he seeking as he shot so many down?
More questions tease the answers through this multi-clysmic scene
The trigger and the tragedy, a nightmare so obscene

Was the horror of this spectacle an outgrowth of his youth?
When was all the damage done? Appearance but a token?
Results now clearly evident how badly he was broken

A quiet, shy young man, seeming normal, seeming whole
Was it striving for perfection that caused ruin to his soul?
What drove him, what possessed him, to commit this heinous crime?
A time bomb detonating in a gruesome pantomime
