Story Behind The Song
All sounds used in this song (including percussion) were sampled and processed from a single field recording of a wild turkey in Berks County, PA. My subject was wary of the microphone, so sound fidelity was limited by how close I could get to him.
Song Description
Benjamim Franklin suggested that the Turkey, rather than the Eagle, be adopted as our national bird. Having heard both birds in the wild, I chose to sample the one that had better vocal potential. Not all lead singers need to be good-looking. My front man isn't a noble, graceful and powerful visionary. He's awkward, goofy and stupid, but at least he doesn't need a comb-over.
