Song Description

This song is sort of the opposite of my song, "Prisoners". While it deals with looking back on a love that is lost or gone, there is an optimistic side because the "resting grounds are revisited". A re-kindling is possible.

Story Behind the Song

I came up with this idea while on a bike ride back in 1993. It fell together fairly quickly - a rarity for me :) Having the drums of Mark Higgins already recorded, I wanted to get other people involved, so I would not be the only one playing everything f

Lyrics

Side by side, our worlds collide
And all solutions blocked by pride
So down we go
So long ago

Through the years, I can?t break free
With buried feelings haunting me
And soon I?ll know
And soon I?ll know

Chorus:

The resting grounds of our love have been revisited
The resting grounds of our love have torn away
From yesterday
Emotions on display

You do without, you hurt within
You think about what might have been
And who?s to blame
Does she feel the same when?

Chorus 2:

The resting grounds of our love have been revisited
The resting grounds of our love refuse to die
As time goes by
Until we give it one more try

Face to face, a meeting place
With no more demons left to chase
So on we go
It?s good to know

Chorus 3:

The resting grounds of our love have been revisited
The resting grounds of our love brought two on trial
To reconcile
The resting grounds of our love have been revisited
The resting grounds of our love have torn away from yesterday
So together we will stay
