Song Description

Where have you been, where are you going? Are you on the same path, or a new one?

Lyrics

I recognize this place, like I've been here before,
can't put a finger on it as I open the door,
but it blurs, and it burns, and it cures the angry word,
once upon a time and place, before the tables turned.

Seems I knew the direction, before it even occured,
Can I retrace the steps, to when the path was not obscured,
my focus is fading, these colors dim into grays,
this perspective is broken, so this vision decays.

Everything I know, and now I've lost control,
how did I make the pieces fit when they were scattered on the floor,
the question, now and then, has always been, where to go,
arriving at the places that I've been before.

Missing pieces of the puzzle, lost to what they say,
these eyes have betrayed, can I still find my way,
like a desert mirage, halucinations take hold,
I trick myself into seeing everything I've been told.

So now that its gone, what am I supposed to do,
take some time to relive everything that we've been through,
I sympathize, after all its your life,
its your time, its your chance, but I'm left with lost sight.

When I knew the plan, I could see the path,
I could clarify the difference of present and past,
As it takes a sudden turn, it blurs, and falls aside,
With no sight to lead the way, I swallow my pride.

Doesn't matter at all, if I've taken the fall,
I can't see if what I've started is practical,
I can't capitalize on this begining again,
where is the point to the story where the plot fits in...

If we start where we end, is that a story at all,
with the chapters locked inside, I have nothing at all,
decoding this message, what am I supposed to read,
following this intuition, wondering where it should lead...

Lost, of lost, of lost, everything is gone [its gone]
Sight, of sight, I've lost sight, we move on [move on]
Lost, of lost, of lost, everything is gone [its gone]
Sight, of sight, I've lost sight, we move on [move on]

[Lost]
These images, spinning all around,
can't tell the difference between up and down.
[Sight]
Its the echoes that stick in my mind,
leaving photographic shells of the time behind.
[Lost]
Couldn't recognize, or even realize,
the patterns that evolved to take over my life.
[Sight]
How do I focus on what isn't there,
pieces crossed and mixed, leaving nothing but repair.

Lost, of lost, of lost, everything is gone [its gone]
Sight, of sight, I've lost sight, we move on [move on]
Lost, of lost, of lost, everything is gone [its gone]
Sight, of sight, I've lost sight, we move on [move on]

Its fuzzy, its faded, its so far, far from view,
I can hardley tell now if I can make my way through,
I'm pushing and I'm fighting everything in my path,
but then I find myself wanting everything that I had.

It was never in my grasp, it was all an illusion,
it was a piece of petty fiction that was leading to confusion,
and to waste my time, so blind in the pursuit,
only to find, the conclusion was to good to be true.

Well they say the grass is greener, is there truth in that statement,
I've never been to the place where I've seen that perspective,
what am I blocking the vision with all the keys to understanding,
the answers of the moment, everyone is always offering.

Should I listen to the banter, just simply turn my back,
No longer seeing whats in front of me, look into the past,
the clarity is contageous, but illusive at best,
so this division now seperates me from the rest.

Do you expect me to see in the darkness of the night,
do you expect my eyes to grasp all the words without a reading light,
fading and fading until nothing is left,
sometimes going blind just might be the right concept.

Then in order to move forward I embrace this confusion,
I encourage this dillema, to force this resolution,
misdirection is abstract, the angle is obscured,
I attempt to find some reference before it occurs.

The color of the picture, has gone to black and white,
this photograph is old, I've seen it to many times,
and I'm blind, I've lost sight, there is no more to see,
that I havn't seen before in the days behind me.

Does the lense trick the viewer by warping the perception,
Will the film show the truth or simply capture my expression,
When my sight has been lost, theres nothing more than a question,
it takes time to refocus, and time to find my intention.
